FAQ
-
I have taken photos and selected the "Get Images" button. I get a message that the images were successfully transferred but the photos do not appear on my computer. What do I do?
First ensure that you have in fact taken photos. Press the Shutter button to take some sample photos and then try downloading them again.
If you do not have an SD memory card inserted in your camera, then your camera will only be able to take test photos. With test photos, if the camera powers off before your photos are uploaded to the computer the photos will be lost, as they are not stored in the camera`s memory. However, if the photos are saved to an SD memory card then all the photos should appear. -
How do I make sure I don't lose important pictures?
Your camera requires an SD card for normal use. If the camera powers off nothing will happen to the images stored on an SD memory card. We recommend always downloading your photos to your computer as soon as possible to prevent unintentional data loss.
-
I deleted images using the Vivitar Experience Image Manager. The images were also deleted from my computer. How do I recover images that I accidently deleted?
All images deleted using the Vivitar Experience Image Manager are sent to your computer`s Recycle or Trash Bin and can be retrieved from there.
-
The power does not turn on. Why not?
It is possible that the battery has insufficient power to turn your camera on. If your camera includes a rechargeable battery, charge the battery fully. If your camera is powered by AA or AAA batteries, it is possible that these batteries need to be replaced. Also, make sure that your batteries are properly inserted, paying close attention to the polarity (+,-) as listed in the battery compartment.
-
The digital camera does not take pictures. Why?
The SD memory card may be full. Insert a new memory card or Download the images and then delete them from the camera`s memory.
It is also possible that the memory card is not formatted correctly. Format the memory card again or use a new card. -
When trying to take a photo why do I get a "Write Protected" error?
This error indicates that the write protect switch on the side of your SD memory card is in the locked position. Take the card out of the camera and make sure the switch is in the unlock position.
-
Why are the images blurry or out of focus?
The digital camera may have been moving when the image was captured. Hold the digital camera steady when shooting a picture. Also, for best results make sure that you have plenty of light available when shooting your photos.
-
Why isn't the Image displayed on the LCD monitor?
Your digital camera can only display picture images. It is possible that a memory card with non picture images (recorded with another camera or loaded from a computer) is loaded.
-
Why didn't some of the photos taken get saved in memory?
Make sure that your digital camera was not turned off before the files are saved in memory. Also, if the battery low indicator appears on the LCD screen, replace the batteries immediately.
-
The flash is not working. Why?
The camera might be in macro mode. Macro mode is useful for close-up photography where using a flash would result in overexposed photos. Take your camera out of macro mode to regain use of your flash. You may also have problems using your flash if your camera is running low on battery power. In such instances you should try recharging or replacing your batteries.
